Mindy has been teaching art since
1994. Since that time, she has taught part time in preschool
and after
school programs, as well as, in elementary, middle, and high
schools.
Mindy
developed and ran for five years a unique spiritual art program
for special populations
at a cancer hospital and at a crisis center. She has written
and implemented a modern art curriculum for schools in the Norwalk
area. Mindy currently conducts workshops on portraiture and using
art as a spiritual healing tool.
artGARAGE In 2004 Mindy established
artGARAGE to teach adult acrylic painting and run a summer children’s
art camp. Her students come to her working studio and learn the
basics of painting, drawing, clay,
sculpture, collage, and more.
TEACHING PROCESS Mindy believes that
everyone is an artist. There are no rules, there are no mistakes,
and there is no “right” way in art.
She guides in an open-ended fashion with an emphasis on process.
Quickly picking up on each student’s strengths and needs, she
provides art instruction in a safe, fun environment and challenges
her students to expand their creativity.
